Thank you for all the stories and this website! I always want to know more about the history of my house and of the neighborhood.

Whoever build the house, I am very grateful for it and will continue to take care of it and save it from the demolishers!

Lived on 7th street, then McRae . We were the only house in the area for some years with a basement ! My grand parents ( Jennings ) lived next door, and all my aunts and uncle in the same neighbourhood. Seems several of my school chums have found this site already and left comments. The family home on McRae got torn down Sept. 10 2020 while some of my family watched. It was emotional to say the least. Will continue to search through this site and maybe introduce some pictures if possible.

My great grandparents The Knipes were on Hampton St in Brentwood First - then my grandparents Alex Grant and Gladys Knipe-Grant moved from Verdun to Hampton St - My parents - George Clarke and Heather-Grant-Clarke married in 1959 and moved in a house owned by my grandmother\'s sister - Jessie Knipe-Millar - in 1964 my parent bought a house from Mr George Caines - My parents remained there until they moved to Belleville, ON - I bought the house from them - we lost Dad 10 years ago but Mom still going strong - I had a wonderful childhood in Brentwood - I miss those days and people that have passed - so many memories

My Dad (John Kempson) moved there in about 1930 and we stayed until 1968 when we moved to Hamilton.

Dad was quite the historian and talked a lot about people, places and events in EG. He passed away in August 2017 and left behind a lot of information about the area. I grew up there and married Rick Hand of Wesley Blvd. We both have lots of good memories of our home town. Thanks for putting the work into developing this website.
