Please record your visit to our web site. The poetry and articles are a timeless record of War and its consquences. It is important to remember how our freedoms were won and for the trustees of our heritage, the writers, to know their work is read.
If you wish to submit writings for inclusion on the site, please forward them to The Web Master at iwvpa@internode.on.net

It is ANZAC day here in Australia and I am always nostalgic for our war vets and their stories. I came across \"The Anzac on the Wall\" by Jim Brown and I cried my heart out. It touched me so much I had to look into it a little more and found this website. I would love to contact Mr Brown, if possible as there was also a painting associated with the poem. Thank you, Kim Baker Webmaster\'s Note Thank you for recording your visit to the IWVPA website. I have sent you a separate email details contact details for Jim. Anthony W. Pahl OAM IWVPA Webmaster |

My heart weeps constantly for the servicemen and women who have given, and give the ultimate sacrifice for conflicts and decisions made by our countries leaders. I weep for the families who have lost lives and homes from battles fought on their doorsteps. I look in the mirror and ask the face looking back at me if I would be willing to make such a sacrifice and sadly I cannot answer \"yes\". I garner upmost respect for anyone who willing to don a soldiers uniform and fight for the freedom of his/her countrymen/women and our allies. I pray for you all and for your families that you return home in victory. But I hope that one day all the world\'s conflicts are fought at a table and not on a field. My undying respect and gratitude to you all. Webmaster\'s Note Hi Rick: Thank you for recording your visit to the IWVPA website. As a returned serviceman I appreciate your words very much, and feel sure my contemporaries do likewise. Sincere regards, Anthony W. Pahl OAM IWVPA Webmaster |

I came to your site and got the good oil and I am sending the truth back to the people who sent it to me. Webmaster\'s Note Thank you John. I think since I\'m not a veteran, my work will not fit here. But I do want to say thank you to all Veterans everywhere! Webmaster\'s Note One need not be a War Veteran to have poetry included on the IWVPA Website. Any Veteran, family member or friend, or any supporter of Veterans may submit writings. The sole condition is that the piece should be about War and/or the consequences of War: be it related to the actual events of war (or any situation where servicemen and service women were involved), or about its effects on those who served directly or in a support role, or those who supported our servicemen and servicewomen actively or behind the scenes: before, during, and after. The IWVPA website is dedicated to and a salute to ALL who served or who were/are affected by Armed conflict or the consequences of that conflict. Anthony W. Pahl OAM IWVPA Webmaster June 1, 2013 |

Comments: |
Ms. Julie Weaver, I served in Company B, 1-506th infantry, 101st Airborne Division from 1969-1970. Our company has undertaken the task of contacting every Soldier who served in our company from April 4, 1969 thru September 4, 1970. Thus far, we have located 137 of us who are alive, we know of our 42 KIA/MIA, 40 of our members have passed away since coming home and we are still searching for 79 other comrades. That totals 219 known Troopers and 79 still not located. During the 6 years in which we have gathered, we have visited the Wall as a group, had five Reunions, and most importantly, written a Journal of EVERY DAY that we were in Vietnam. We have obtained the records from the National Archives, added eyewitness accounts and personal photos and written the Journal that now totals over 385 pages of our story. We have also created our own password-protected website. The reason for this contact is to let you know that we have placed your letter on two of those pages. Your letter reached us and we are thankful for your concern. We do not plan on publishing our Journal however, the Journal has served as a point of reference and healing for our Soldiers. Your letter indicates that you want to be a part of the healing that so many of our company still are seeking. You have no idea how many of us it has helped. Currahee! God Bless You Webmaster\'s Note Peter: No longer having contact details for Julie, I hope she visits the IWVPA Guestbook and sees your message. If I am able to locate her, your words will be relayed to her immediately. The letter to which Peter refers is located on the IWVPA Website at Julie Weaver: An Open Letter To Anyone Who Served In Vietnam. Anthony W. Pahl OAM IWVPA Webmaster January 13, 2013 |
