Welcome to the Strelets Forum. Please feel free to discuss any aspect of 1/72 scale plastic figures, not simply Strelets. If you have any questions about our products then we will answer them here.
Strelets have also announced their next line up of figures, which are:
M029 - Crimean British Grenadiers in Winter Dress
M030 - Crimean British Light Infantry
M031 - RKKA Infantry 1939-41
M032 - Crimean British Grenadiers in Summer Dress
M033 - Roman Auxiliaries Before Battle
M034 - Roman Auxiliaries in Advance
904 - From Narva to Poltava
Most of the set names speak for themselves. RKKA was the official name of what is usually called the Soviet Red Army. Set 904 is likely to be a large set including both old and new figures. It refers to the Great Northern War, but whether it will contain Swedes or Russians, or both (or indeed someone else), is not known. The sets are expected in spring this year.
Yes, the future releases sound good, especially the early WW2 Soviets. Still a little part of me is disappointed the the US Cavalry Set 2 as well as a set of opposing Appaches are not also listed! Well I guess we can dream.... One day I may actually get desperate enough to buy the Lucky Toys 'Custer Last Hunt' Set. Recently, despite the green coloured plastic it is not looking so bad!
I will take a wild guess and say that the RKKA guys are wearing summer dress with a mixture of field caps, forage caps (for the officers) and the M1936 "turtle" helmets. That would make them good for Lake Khasan, Khalkin Gol, the Invasion of Poland in 1939 and the first two years of the Great Patriotic War. I think that Mars or someone is coming out with a set of Winter War Russians, who would have the shlem and greatcoats.
It's the Roman Auxiliaries Before Battle and Roman Auxiliaries in Advance that I'm looking forward to. It's great that Strelets are sticking with this era. Hopefully a big set is not too far off. Great too to see the Crimea is back in favour. Any chance we could be told what is in the GNW big set?
