Welcome to the Strelets Forum. Please feel free to discuss any aspect of 1/72 scale plastic figures, not simply Strelets. If you have any questions about our products then we will answer them here.
Hi Uwe, hope your holiday was good.Italy is bellisima. Okay direct sales or pre order might help strelets assess market strengh.
I can see me needing 8 boxes turkish inf at least. I dont like those bersaglieri on the markett(1815) the brims are too small and paint slides off the figures.Much time wasting .Hope someone else produces better.
as Waterloo is an Italian manufactor I can't understand why they don't know their own uniforms.
In 1859 (and 1855 of course) we have not an Italian army, but I Piemontese one. The Piemontese Bersaglieri had a standing red colar and red cuffs. The uniform of Waterloo's figures is the new Italien uniform which was worn from 1861 onwards. So you can use these guys for Custozza and Rome 1870. Nothing more. Sadly most modern paintings show the Bersaglieri with the "modern" style uniform for earlier wars.
Lucky toys is working on good Bersaglieri, exact the uniform that we need.
And after deeping into the Risorgimento with all the colourful uniforms 1848/59/66 I want to see more Italians, Austrians and French!!!
Hi UWE
do you know the adress of web poject of victorain era military wehre are pictures of crimean wwr ottoman infantry. Someone menitoned this that there is site were are pictures of ottoman infantry
sadly I don't know this page. I have a lot of paintings about the Turks and a very good booklet about the Turkish army in the Crimea written by the Crimean war research society. Beside this there was a good article in the magazine "Soldiers of the queen" several years ago.
But I would always like to see more plates of them!
the success of this hobby depends on the viability of shops selling these products. Direct sales from makers don't help them and will lead to deterioration of the situation.
Regards,
