Thanks, Well spotted.
I missed that one because it was in hard plastic and multi part.
Also Atlantic US soldiers had a flag raising albeit with only two figures. I would like to see Japanese for bunkers with artillery men. In fact artillery for just about every theater.
Scott, you are right, the Revell sets aren't that
great (though I think the marines are better than
the Japanese). I think the best Japanese set was
made by Matchbox, but it isn't available anymore.
The esci Japanese set is pretty good also. If you are
interested in World War in the Pacific, your options
are severely limited.
I have the ESCI Japanese and they are good, but the poses are wooden. Hopefully Caesar will make a nice set of Japanese to combat their Chinese troops.
then there's the atlantic japs...with neckties no less. i got lucky a few years back and bought a box of the matchbox japanese. a set worthy of reissue. i just wonder what happened to the matchbox molds? hope they're still around.
Did anyone here hear that Joe Rosenthal has died?
Yes, earlier this past week.
I spoke to Cesaer Minis not too long ago and he, unfortunately, will not be able to make a set of WWII Japanese. This has something to do with the Company being located in Taiwan. I have also spoke to Hat and at this point in time they are not intersted in doing Pacific theater.
I guess our only choice is to try to convince Italeri or Revell to come out with a new set that compliments what has been available in the past.
