Although this particular set is ACW, I feel that the format of 7 poses of foot figures (8 if there is no Streltsi) and 6 poses of mounted figures repeated on two sprues, with two sprues of 6 horses is perfect for the Wild West setting. I have always been disappointed by the small number of mounted poses in Wild West sets, when so much of the action takes place on horseback.

If you really wanted to be innovative, you could give each figure swappable plug-in torsos and foot and mounted legs so you could double the poses for foot and mounted. This would also encourage the purchase of multiple sets for more variations.

Strelets has many figures with plug in weapons and some with separate arms, so swappable torsos as seen in the old Timpo and Britains Swoppet figures would be no problem.

This would work perfectly with irregular troops such as rangers and indians and also with military sets where the unit is homogeneous, such as mounted and dismounted cavalry or dragoons, but not a mixture of cavalry and infantry figures.

We have yet to see acceptable swappable torso figures in 1/72. Even Zvezda, which, in our opinion, is the best technically advanced manufacturer hasn't done that.
