Along with the command stands/vignettes that I finished recently were some cavalry for the Vendéen revolt, using figures from Strelets excellent and adaptable 'French Hussars in Egypt'.


I used a couple for another command stand too, this time General Rochambeau and a trooper of the 1er hussards circa Haitian Revolution

James, they are very nice conversions and adaptations of very under-represented eras in plastic (I.e. non existant) other than for conversions.

Both the Vendee and Haitian theatres provide so many opportunies for new scenarios (and sets) to complement Strelets previously released French and British sets for the Egyptian campaign who can be used as backbones for early French and British armies.

Vendean and Haitian foot rebels fought in vast numbers and would be ideal for their own sets (hint hint Strelets 🙄).

I suspect that figures for these conflicts will be a bit tangential to Strelets' current plans and, frankly, unlikely to sell in any big quantities.

I have figures 'on the go' to represent the recent freed slaves of the initial revolt, colonial infantry and the later, more formalised, Haitian army. Others for Vendéens as well (which will double as Chouans for my purposes). Drop me a line if you are interested to hear what I have/am using.
