Unboxing the Rhedosaurus model.
It's really nice.
And it's big, it says 12 inches but that's only how tall it is, the body and tail are bigger than that.
This is going to be fun. Waiting on some paint before I start it.
Some horror, some Roco Minitanks, a bit of Kiss Kiss Club and other projects that are moving from slow, to very slow, to glacial, but all are moving.
I have a lot of projects that have been in the works for a long time that are starting on the downhill slope and so many should be making great progress in the next few weeks and some might actually get done.
Make a comment at the bottom of the blog, tell a couple friends and go see Primitive War.
Van body truck, Roco Minitanks, sort of. I have been gathering up the hanger queens and making them into something. This little truck is one of those. It is a body and a cab that have languished in the collection spares box separately for over 20 years.
Now it's time to bring them together. Little vans of all kinds are found on Army bases and in armies in the field. Always something to be repaired, refurbished, replenished, or rehabilitated.

This is one of those elegant solutions to several problems. Parts from vehicle A go onto vehicle B which go on to vehicle C which gives me three new vehicles out of a single good vehicle and some junk vehicles.
Another small truck conversions. I took bits from the spares box and started putting them together into artillery, anti-tank guns, coast defense guns, halftracks, and now, little trucks.
Most of these were just bits laying around for 20 years or more just in case I needed them. Well, I decided to use them all for something and so almost anything of value in the sparse box is getting put into service.
Remote command center, a few miles outside Washington, D.C. a US Army command center is set up to test the emergency response of Army units to a crisis in the Capital.
Military police, microwave truck, and other vehicles in the forest ready for any eventuality.
I picked up this little set at Dollar Tree. It has a nice selection of reptiles and insects, despite being called "Reptiles" I was looking particularly for a small tarantula, and horned toad and this set filled that niche nicely.
The sets seem to have two of each model, one in red and one in black. The sets are not perfectly sorted, but after buying 7 of them they actually evened out.
I was inspired by the Peter Graves movie, Killers from Space.
The movie, Killers From Space,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killers_from_Space
has a rather long scene of the hero, Dr. Douglas Martin, running through the underground facility of the space aliens and observing various giant reptiles and insects. The aliens intend to release them on Earth and destroy human civilization. Then they will use a special ray gun to kill off the bugs and take over the Earth.
So naturally, I have to have some of those bugs and reptiles. I am still looking for a giant Gila monster, so if you know of one that is 9 to 18 inches long, let me know. Not the articulated 3D printed one, it's terrible.
So here are more of the bugs, ready for the invasion to commence.
