Couldn’t ask for a better teaser than something completely unknown! The most obvious choice would be mounted volunteers for the Seminole War, as cavalry did play a role believe it or not ( and the attire seems to fit). But maybe a more dark house choice would be some mounted militia for the South American Wars of Independence? The uniform fits really well for it honestly, including the flamboyant feather, the design on one of his cross belts… it could be a possibility. It’d be nice if we could see the action on the gun, but I’m gonna assume it’s flintlock due to the top hat and the era in which it was in fashion. Not thinking Kentucky mounted militia due to the feather over the plume, and the lack of tassels on the uniform. Exciting potential nonetheless! Can’t wait to see what this ends up being
Definitely an American Indian. Some of he best sculpting of facial features I have ever seen in the 1/72 scale. BTW, congrats on the review for the Holy Roman Grenadiers on PSR. Beautiful figures in a perfect color. I'm looking forward to seeing additional sets from the Germanic states, he hinted shamelessly. Have a great and safe week.
That’s what I’m stuck on Chris, he looks like a native in every aspect except for the top hat. I’ve been trying to find some sources that have early 19th century Indians wearing such attire but I’ve had no luck yet. It’s a fun puzzle too be sure!
