Re: Next Friday

Not my era but WOW!!!
Those are very impressive. Especially like the sargent.

Re: Next Friday

Time to expand your collection to another era, I'd say ... :sunglasses:
Believe me, you'll regret it in the future if you don't. The time will come when you think it might be nice to have just a few tricornes in your collection only to relealize that they are no longer available but for outrageous prices at Ebay. And then you start grumbling "why didn't I buy them back then ...?". Happens all the time, I know it from experience. And even if you don't want them 15 years from now, you might be the one to sell them for a nice revenue. It's an investment into the future ... 😊😄😉

Re: Next Friday

Those curly wigs & big coats....i'm not sure I can bring myself to get them Flambeau!!!
Joking aside, apart from I think 1 set not being too great (French Musketeers was it?), the range as a whole has been amazing. Truely Strelets best work at this time I would say.
The cavalry are fantastic.

I am getting tempted. Still got lots of Napoleonics I need to buy. Especially more of Strelets Prussians. But I could see myself buying the odd set from time to time, just for a change from the usual.

I will in the mean time have a good read about the WSS.

Re: Next Friday

Curly wigs - only the officers. Big coats - easy painting, not so many straps holding knapsacks etc.
Reading - you do just that: huge theatre of war (almost as big as the Napoleonic wars), many nations involved, many interesting battles, great British/Allied victories (and a few defeats), colourful uniforms - and from now on many nice minis - if that's not enough to get you hooked ... Unless the Ministry of Finance objects ... :relaxed:

Re: Next Friday

Well finance does invaribly come into it, but i'm sure I can sneek some in!!!

Re: Next Friday

Wow wow wow...Figurines of incredible beauty, have a very high level of sculpture ... I have no words but so I start the day great. Happy for the flag holder ... so it would still take even for the French ... Congratulations Strelets, I like sooo much.

Re: Next Friday

Dear Strelets team,
Kudos...again.
I wish we could have a pint someday since it seems you're in the UK as well?
Take care and thank you for these great figures.

Re: Next Friday

Wonderful figures mr. Strelets, hope they're Austrians indeed!

Re: Next Friday

Great miniatures wonderful done. to enjoy us.

I presume and hope too that they are austrians, but it´s difficult to say without infantry regulars.

Re: Next Friday

OMG WOW fantastic sculpts , my sincere compliments on them, bare flag pole is indeed an excellent idea , can't wait for release, talking of which when will all the other WSS sets be available in UK as my paint brush is burning with desire to get strated on them, again well done Strelets team
cheers Old John

That's quite a statement old John, but I know what you mean:smile:

My paint brushes are not so much 'burning' as getting worn out at an alarming rate...but no matter, I have plenty held in reserve to meet the next wave of Strelets releases.:art: :art:

Re: Next Friday

Excellent figures! All are great, and the officer is a work of art.

I assume that these gentlemen are the command sprue for the very good marching musketeers that were previewed on 8th July?

These will make very fine Austrians...or Danes...or Prussians...or Saxons....or Spanish....

I'd better make some more space to accommodate a few regiments of these fellows!

Have a good weekend:slightly_smiling_face:

Re: Next Friday

Not the least bit deserty....

Re: Next Friday

Too curly wurly for me they look like a 80's heavy metal band.

Re: Next Friday

Nah...they've always reminded me of an Adam & the Ants tribute band!!

Still think I might dip into the WSS though as a change. My main focus will still be Napoleonics...especially sets suitable for Waterloo or Leipzig.

Yes, you know it makes sense Roger. Just buy a box or two of the sets you like and paint them up as display pieces; no need for a big diorama, reserve your Napoleonic energies for that.

Then maybe another couple of boxes of the WoSS new releases. You'll be hooked before long, but you may be surprised by how satisfying it can be dry-brushing curly wigs and working on the details of an over-sized coat cuff !!

Have a good weekend:slightly_smiling_face:

PS: Adam and the Ants? Heavy metal band?? Well, to my eye they are early Bon Jovi, perhaps Whitesnake (version 4) etc etc

Re: Next Friday

😂😂👍👍

Re: Next Friday

An absolute bravo!! I truly believe that these will be collectors pieces at some point in the future. I hope to see many more components for the Austrians, as well as for the WSS era. Great scope for their use in fighting the Turks as well as other European nationalities. More troops of the Turkish Empire and the Crimean Khanate of the early 18th century would be quite wonderful subjects for a sculptor(s) of this quality. Thanks, Stretlets!

Re: Next Friday

These do look like excellent sculpts! Congratulations Strelets!
