Welcome to the Strelets Forum. Please feel free to discuss any aspect of 1/72 scale plastic figures, not simply Strelets. If you have any questions about our products then we will answer them here.
I have just received 6 boxes of Arabs en FFL(yes Alan I too occasionally deviate to the desert) from DandF England and was most unpleasantly surprised that on top of the postage fee of around 16 Euro I also had to pay import duties at the amount of approximately 22.50 Euro which means I could have bought at least three other sets whereas I now pay about 55% of the purchase price in additional costs. Obviously that is ridiculous. Do you have an importer in Holland or Germany or any other EU country, since ordering out of the UK is becoming a waste of money, money I had rather spent on additional sets. It is regrettable for my regular outlets, i.e. Hannants and DandF, but really...
HI Thomas, it is the same the other way, ordering within the EU just got expensive for UK buyers too.
Agreed. In fact i've been quite interested in some of the Napoleonic & ACW poses from Spiera Miniatures but all the mess over charges etc has put me off for the time being. Shame really as nothing like those poses here in GB.
Hopefully it is sorted out in a more helpful way in favour of consumers both sides of the channel soon as the current situation does nobody any favours.
…, but as stated it does not solve the current UK shipping quandary.
Yes and we will certainly not be able to find a sustainable solution to this weird issue here & now.
However, this could be an excellent opportunity for differently located traders to expand Strelets‘ distribution system in Europe.
Since it seems relatively unrealistic that previously established trade routes will be usable again in the near future, better networking on the much larger & more lucrative mainland would be advantageous for Strelets and a major part of their customers.
Accordingly, affected buyers could point out this opportunity to eligible traders in their respective regions.
Both, local hobby shops (if they still exist) as well as online retailers.
