Sticky Caesar Problelm

I sent this message to Caesar Miniatures:

On the Strelets Forum people were discussing painting Caesar Miniatures.

"A few months later in storage and I noticed that the paint had gone sticky and glossy (previously painted matt), like it had reacted with the plastic or something. I did the same preparation with them (scrubbed with detergent and washed) and used my usual Vallejo acrylic paints as with everything else I've ever painted. I have literally no idea why these figures from Caesar in particular went bad and sticky but it has put me off from buying more, sadly! "

What kinds of paint do you recommend for Caesar Miniatures?

I got this reply:

"Dear Michael:

Thank you for your email.
I have never heard it before.
I think some Tamiya products are good.

Best regards,
Caesar Miniatures"

I concur with their response.

Re: Sticky Caesar Problelm

Dear Mike, you are right!!!
I exclusively use Vallejo model color and many of my Caesar figures had this problem. ..as I paint all my stuff I had to move to last century products again : Esci, Revell or Zvezda...no problem with this kind of plastics...
Greetings

Re: Sticky Caesar Problelm

Never have a problem, but I always prime/undercoat with a plastic primer regardless of make or type of plastic.
