Zandvoort report from Marcus Bicknell. Clubmans races 17th May 2015
Dateline Zandvoort. Cook triumphs over 3 races as Race 1 winner Rob Manson finds the gravel trap in Race 2. Cook also stormed to a win in Race 3... His tussle with Manson turned to his favour when the laid back but ultra fast Californian broke his drive shaft. Manson 1 Cook 2. Cook takes the Mallock Memorial Trophy. Richard Gilmour was back to his 1970s form with two podiums and third overall, Marcus Bicknell 4th and Brian Hunter 5th. Local hero Onno Zuidema ( polite translation of his nickname "On the Edge") used Marcus's Mallock to get 2nd in Race 2 and 6th overall; Trish Hunter 7th from one race in the car shared with Brian. Ian Crombie suffered engine problems and did not race. The Manufacturer's Trophy was won by Mallock Sports with Mallock Sports in 2nd and 3rd.

Thanks very much Marcus for organising a great weekend.
3 long races at £75 a go. Garages with showers. Scruteneers coming to the garage. Organisers coming to our garage with flowers for the prizegiving. But most of all.
An iconic GP track in an fantastic setting. Did not get anywhere near Onnos times. Hopefully next year.
Strongly reccomend Stena Line, very impressive

Also - decent crowd, possibly linked to the fact it's free entry for spectators, with only a minimal parking charge for those that came by car.
Plus, 10 euro transponder rental (or free if you don't actually use it), free race numbers, not stupidly priced food and a bar at the end of the paddock.
I'll be back next year.
PS If anybody has injector trouble at any meetings this year, I'll now have a couple of spares in my toolbox.
