SparkPlugs

OK Borat has earned a new set of spark plugs for Croft.

However checking with the Oracle there appears to be two NGK plugs-

BCPR7ES (NGK3330)

BCPR7ES-11 (NGK1095)

Anybody know which one is legal?

Before Sven says it "yes I know where to put them"

Re: SparkPlugs

Spark Plugs - standard heat range Unipart GSP6662 Champion RC9YCC NGK BCPR6ES Bosch FR7DC Spark Plugs - cooler heat range Unipart GSP6652 Champion RC7YCC NGK BCPR7ES Bosch FR6DC

The regulations. I only know this because i looked it up recently. I would use BCPR6ES. I use these on my proto engine but the platinum tiped version. But i guess they are banned in S1600!

Re: SparkPlugs

Steve, thanks, I understand the rules but there are two BCPR7ES NGK plugs so my real question is which one is suitable and legal ?

BCPR7ES (NGK3330) or

BCPR7ES-11 (NGK1095)

Re: SparkPlugs

Looks to me the only difference is the gap. 0.9 to 1.1 mm

Why not ask Paul Freeman?

Re: SparkPlugs

BCPR7ES is the correct plug - and fortunately complies with the regs....:-)

Re: SparkPlugs

Pete, yes, but which version:-

BCPR7ES (NGK3330) or

BCPR7ES-11 (NGK1095)

both are BCPR7ES one id suffix (NGK3330) and one is suffix (NGK1095).

I guess I will just pick one of them :0)

BTW I did ask Paul Freeman who said BCPR7ES

Re: SparkPlugs

OK Andy to be more specific - use BCPR7ES not BCPR7ES-11

Re: SparkPlugs

OK thanks Pete (also for getting out of the honeymoon bed )

Re: SparkPlugs

Andy, the Regs say specifically and have for years and years, ... 7ES they have never said ...7ES -11. Therefore your question should never have arisen!!

We allowed the cooler 7 plugs about 14 years (or more) ago.

Re: SparkPlugs

Correct Jamie, Steve had sort of covered that by copying and pasting the regs straight away .....

I'm pretty sure we included the two heat ranges of plugs soon after the introduction of the K series engine at the suggestion of Steve Wood of Longbridge - so probably 1997 or 98!!
