I have a 2008 vintage 57' Simon Piper Narrowboat with the fresh water tank in the bow, filled through a brass connection under a square hinged cover. I'm guessing that this is a standard feature. My stored water is always clear and fresh tasting and I treat the tank annually with Elsan fresh water tank cleaner but, with the boat approaching 8 this year, I'm wondering about the tank construction and whether any deeper maintenance is required?
Thanks Dot, your advice is much appreciated and so the same treatment is now done again for the new season. Whilst it's in my mind though, can you cast any light on the construction of the tank for future reference?
Hi Andrea, thanks for contributing. My boat (Driftin') is a trad stern 57' nb built in 2008 and, as I understand it, she's one of a run of 'off the shelf' boats done at that time.
