I've done some casual research and have come up with ancestors born in England about 1700, settling in the Colony of Virginia. I determined this by tracing my grandfather, Atlee Bernard Ayres, born in Hillsboro, Highland County, Ohio on July 12, 1873 and passed on in San Antonio, Bexar County, TX on Nov 6, 1969, at 96 years old.
My father, Atlee Tandy Ayres, born 1898 (according to one report) and died ???.
He deserted our mother, Augustine Kutach Ayres in 1941, when I was 14 months old. I am the youngest of her five children.
The fellow from England, above, was Mattais Ayres, 1700-1782.
Can anyone verify the genealogy from my grandfather, back?
