This of course just covers the western and eastern front I would like to see the following..
German units in Mesopotamia, palastine and persia any and all regulars ,colonial and irregulars fighting under german command......
Early German artillery crew
Early german heavy Weapons
Turkish cavalry lancers
Late Turk assault troops wearing the distintive Turkish helmet...
Dismounted Cossacks skirmishing they played an important part particularly in persia....
I think WW1 is a of growing interest to many gamers and collectors and this is only likely to increase
as we approach the anniversary it should be noted that the conflict has its roots in the wars in libya the balkans from 1911 on, eventually this escalated into a full blown world conflict..
Bulgarian, Montenegran, Italian colonial for libya are just a few of the many nations that could be modelled......
Don't forget the Hat Turkish infantry, support weapons and artillery and the ANZACs, with, hopefully, Australian Light Horse at some point. Obviously, Airfix (Hat remolds) Arabs cab be used for the Arab revolt (In fact, the Esci Muslim Warriors set even seems to include a Lawrence of Arabia). British infantry in hot climate kit would be a good addition.
Personally I don't like the new Caesar WW1 Germans.. I feel that the helmets are too WW2 in style..
The Revell are IMO the best figures on this subject. I use plenty of Hat, and of course the Strelets WW1 Cav. Look at the cavalry pages under Special features on the web site for some photos.
Our differing tastes are of course what keep the diversity of manufacturer in the hobby, and we all benefit.
