Welcome to the Strelets Forum. Please feel free to discuss any aspect of 1/72 scale plastic figures, not simply Strelets. If you have any questions about our products then we will answer them here.
If Strelets were to re-run its Roman sets in a few years, would you prefer the figures to be in the same grey as the current release or in a different color? Personally, I wouldn't mind a re-run in silver, the same color that Esci used for a re-run of its Romans.
I have to insist on them sticking with gray. My entire Roman army, some 2000 figs by several manufacturers, is currently gray. Every manufacturer except Italeri (silver) & Atlantic (peach) has made their Romans in gray. why change now?
Granted that Orion & Hat have made their's in 2 colors, but there is always gray. We have infantry, cavalry, sailors, auxiliaries, specialists, numerous eras, etc all in gray. It works, leave it alone!
Silver is basically just a shiny gray, but when everything else is in gray, why bother?
Bert, I don't paint my figures either and prefer to keep each army in a similar color, so your point about gray is well taken. With that said, I don't think it would hurt to field future releases in other colors considering that the Romans battled one anohter and this would allow one to easily distinguish one army from another. I'm tired of gray and tan personally.
