Re: is he horse or camel mounted?

And doesn't that look like how the rear view of General Bonaparte would appear when viewing Gérôme's painting from behind?:upside_down_face:

Re: is he horse or camel mounted?

Thank you Strelets

James, I am sure you are correct. The first representation in soft plastic of the Corsican in his early years.

He will be my first camel mounted General.

I am so looking forward to the remainder of this set. What an awesome surprise this has been.

Regards
Danny

Re: is he horse or camel mounted?

While Napoleonics are outside my normal range of collecting, sometimes a set comes along that may have uses in other areas. This might be one of those sets.

I will continue to observe the contents as they are revealed.

Re: is he horse or camel mounted?

Well done the sculptor, Boney at a glance.

Re: is he horse or camel mounted?

Thanks for the beautiful sets. I have one recommendation. If you are looking to continue Napolean's Egyptian campaign can you please consider doing: dismounted Mameluks & Mameluke Cavalry and Ottoman artillery, infantry & Cavalry (a set of each) as the Ottomans were also a major adversary to Napolean in Egypt. Thanks

Re: is he horse or camel mounted?

Dear Georgius

I wholeheartedly agree with you.

Strelets has produced one set of Mameluke cavalry, which unfortunately I did not follow my rule of "Buy it when you see it, not when you need it", and I missed out on those fine fellows.

I would welcome all of the sets you mentioned.

Regards
Danny

Re: is he horse or camel mounted?

Dear Danny

Thanks for supporting my humble suggestion. I think that for us to enjoy Napolean's French troops in the Egyptian Campaign we require soldiers from his adversaries for our diorama.

Other examples of periods where we require adversaries are re the 1812 War (only 1 set of Americans), Polish Soviet War (only 1 set of Polish) & the RIF War (not even one set of Spanish). A couple of sets from these missing nationalities will fill a big sad gap in our beloved hobby.

Finally, I also refer to the missing Mexicans & Comanches re the Western period.

Re: Long time no see

Might have to start picking up some of the older Egyptian sets… and it also looks like the Seminoles will have some mounted reinforcements. Both sets will be much appreciated!
