Yes, I understand it. There is a limit for my eyes too!

1/72 has lots of nice details and looks very beautiful on a table/shelf whether one looks closely or from afar.

With 15mm one can still see (and paint) quite a few details, not as many as in 1/72 minis, but they do still look good. At least for me.

But I draw my line here.

In our hobby there are people who collect and play with 10mm, 6mm and even 2mm miniatures. All very cool, it is a matter of taste, of course, and everyone is free to enjoy miniatures and wargaming however they please, but for me those smaller scales simply do not work.

Kudos for the guy who came up with the idea of producing 2mm miniatures, but I think these are only for the most hardcore players. For example, the pictures at the Irregular miniatures website are nice, (specially the terrain and scenery these guys make fir their 2mm range), but I don't see myself playing nor colecting such small minis.
(But I think it would be kind of fun trying to sculpt those, though).

Re: 2mm - if I didn't have to paint them myself. The advantage there, as far as I can see, is forget being able to do a full battle on the table, you can do an entire campaign! Imagine - "Battleground Europe" - the entire Western Front in WW2 on your dining room table (considering our dining room seats 12-14 (large family) it's doable. :wink:

Yea, the biggest advantage of 2mm (no pun intended) are the very large armies and the fact that your dinner table can become a whole country!
I admit that I get a little curious to try some of those minis from Irregular, even though the almost complete lack of details bothers me, but I better not start another miniatures project, specially now that I just got some Essex minis!
