Since we haven't seen any new additions to the set of figures that were shown August 8, I guess that set is all shown. Is it really another Seminole War militia set? I really wish we could get some US Army regulars for that war.

I still need 93rd Sutherland Highlanders for New Orleans.

But speaking of militia, it would be nice to have a set of Kentucky or Tennessee militia ALL wearing their hunting shirts and a lot of top hats for War of 1812. They would be useful at Thames 1813 (at least the mounted Kentuckians against your own Tecumseh set), or dismounted militia Tennesseans in hunting shirts at Horeshoe Bend 1814 or New Orleans 1815 (and plenty of other engagements).

To the artists at Strelets, I am going with the American Indian again, eastern tribe. That second figure is for sure a member of an eastern tribe. He's wearing a hunting shirt. Also, to add an item to the wish list basket, I LOVE the American Civil War officers sets that you produced, including the drummers and fifers, but I have always wondered why you never produced a Confederate set of dismounted officers. I have to believe that it would sell very nicely.

Nothing like a Friday teaser that stumps you. Beats me as to what they are specifically but I agree with the guesses already made. They look really nice as far as sculpting goes. Another set I will definitely pick up.

The headgear on the mounted figure strongly suggests Eastern Indian; both Cherokee and Seminole wore similar "turbans" I go with Seminole, but such a figure could be an Andy Jackson Ally in the Creek War - after all, the Cherokee carried most of the burden at Horseshoe Bend.

Presumably that should clarify it all.

Doesn’t seem to clarify my apparently limited historical knowledge lol. The mounted fellow looks like he could be a Napoleonic Balkan irregular? A Hadjuk maybe? As for the man with the shotgun, a Siberian native? An American native? Not sure, but very intrigued

agree with Asher, my first thought when I saw the rider was "original Hungarian Hussar for WSS" - of course guided by my wishful thinking. Their uniforms were simpler and not het stylish as 50 years later - just a kind of bonnet with a bag - with or without pelt - the barrel belt, the hair braids, all is correct on the figure. Just the braids on the dolman should be more cord-like ?
The second reminded me also of a Siberian Inuit - expedition of Yermak comes to mind - but he carries a pistol which should definitely not be authentic.

My guess at these masters are that they are for Napleons expedition to Egypt.

The mounted figure at top appears to be a female Cantinier and the master shown in the thread for Mike B's 70th Birthday appears to be a European artist accompanying the expedition, as per a painting of that time.

I assume the other foot and mounted figures are Egyption/Syrian local.

Very interesting indeed.
