Welcome to the Strelets Forum. Please feel free to discuss any aspect of 1/72 scale plastic figures, not simply Strelets. If you have any questions about our products then we will answer them here.
More work on the Kiss Kiss Club, this time making tables. Not much furniture in 1/72nd scale, and most of it is expensive, hard to find, or comes in little tiny quantities.
So to create a big nightclub and it's furnishings I decided to whip up a few tables and chairs. Four chairs for each table and I am doing at least 16 tables and if I could do math I would know that's a lot of chairs.
Making little furniture for the Kiss Kiss Club. A nightclub only has a few kinds of furniture but it is important. I have done some mock ups on casinos and they will be done in a little while. I want to finish the Kiss Kiss Club first.
All I got left is painting and installing the palm trees, creating the sandy beach, sanding and putting sand on the bases, finishing the sign, the fence, restrooms, ticket booth and bar. Maybe a little more.
Bar and Bandstand construction.
Time consuming but well worth it because a club without a bar is just a dance hall.
I am making four chairs per table and figures for at least 1/2 the chairs.
My daughter made a custom Kiss Kiss poster for me.
Winding up the chair production. Setting things up for size, checking things as you go is very important for large projects. Otherwise you end up with components that don't fit and having to do them over.
This project has no instructions, and the club in real life was only an outdoor movie set. It was filmed in two different locations, so many of the stills from the movie don't match in detail! I should be done in a week or less!
We shall see. Comment on and follow the blog, new content every day.
Planning and Progress on the Kiss Kiss room space and arrangement of the interior area. Since it is based on a movie set and not a real nightclub some things like how the employees and guests move about the location are not taken into account for the movie.
I need to move figures around to conduct a RPG or wargame so the size of bases and such need to be considered. This shows some of my techniques for planning and building the layout.
