Welcome to the Strelets Forum. Please feel free to discuss any aspect of 1/72 scale plastic figures, not simply Strelets. If you have any questions about our products then we will answer them here.
I’ve recently ran into a problem with the new Austrian WSS sets. Unlike the rest of the line so far, we have been given empty flag poles to add our own flags. This itself is not a problem, I even painted some flags for these units. My issue is that the staffs are too short. They simply aren’t long enough to hold a standard sized infantry flag. After seriously gashing my finger with an exacto blade while trying to bore a hole in one figure to insert a straight piece of wire as the flag pole, I figured I’d check to see if anyone has any experience with this sorta thing. This would also be helpful to know as I’d like to give all my regiments two flags, and therefore need to convert some marching figures to flag bearers as well. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Asher
Ya I’m currently trying to Rich. My two challenges right now are figuring out how to upload pictures from my phone to my computer, and how to get my Benno’s account back. The account creation and recovery on Benno’s forum is a bit difficult, but I really just need to prioritize getting it done. I will say this I’ve definitely taken a lot of inspiration from your work. You and minute man set a gold standard for WSS contributions in the hobby. Ill definitely let you know though when I get some pictures uploaded here soon.
Cut the pole a few mm from the top. Assuming you have a paper flag glue and wrap the flag around the remaining pole. insert the top half of the pole that was previously cut off into the gap at the very top of the flag. Once the glue dries there is a gap between the top and bottom of the pole hidden by the flag.
