Welcome to the Strelets Forum. Please feel free to discuss any aspect of 1/72 scale plastic figures, not simply Strelets. If you have any questions about our products then we will answer them here.
In the past couple of months you mentioned the possibility of starting aseries for the American War of Independence. I would like to underscore your comment that this has been a very undeveloped topic in this hobby, with most of the sets produced for this era thus far inferior to anything you have created for the War of the Spanish Succession. Although I am a fan of what Redbox has done to cover the Renaissance and Eastern regions, in my opinion no one can touch the sets that you have created for the WSS subject. An AWI series would provide the opportunity to create more Eastern Indian subjects, not to mention Morgan's troops, the Hessians and artillery and cavalry for both sides. Also historical figures for both sides.
I will close by saying that I am on my email urging our American leaders to send more money and weapons to support you in your fight for freedom. God bless you and keep you safe.
I think you are right Chis. Personality figures would be good, no one has done that apart from a possible George Washington on horseback in the Airfix set. I think civilians would be good too, women, children and old people, blacksmith, farmers, preacher, doctors and others. Again, no one does these, even if they were only a few different figures in each box as has been done with other eras.
Hessian troops, and Indians too would be great as well. Making products outside what has already been done is always a good idea.
If the sculptors need help with sources I can send over a PDF copy of the Digby Smith & Kevin Kiley Illustrated Encyclopedia The American Revolutionary War, Uniforms from 1775-1783 (2008). Contains 250+ pages worth of images to draw ideas from. Best of luck regardless of the direction the company pursues in the future, just happy you guys are around.
