Welcome to the Strelets Forum. Please feel free to discuss any aspect of 1/72 scale plastic figures, not simply Strelets. If you have any questions about our products then we will answer them here.
These early World War Two US Army figures by Strelets in 1/72nd scale plastic are perfect for my 1938 US Army. Here they are taking part in a counter-attack against a horrific monster that is rampaging the countryside.
Colonel Gumm was a villain in the Batman TV show, who worked for the Pink Chip Stamp Company. It was a play the name of the Blue Chip Stamp company that existed in those days. People would buy products at stores and gasoline stations and receive a number of trading stamps. Those stamps were then glued into books and could be traded in for small appliances, clothing, toys and other items at special stores. It was quite the rage in the 1960s.
Colonel Gumm works his criminal plots by counterfeiting rare postage stamps and then selling them to millionaires in the TV show. Later in the Batman 66 comic book series Colonel Gumm promotes himself to General Gum and teams up with the Joker for further criminal activities.
Every since I was a child I enjoyed watching the movie the Wizard of Oz. I later read a couple of the books and sadly found them to be rather meh. Still, I like the idea of a wider Oz with other groups of people living there. So I decided to create my own Wizard of Oz wargame set up, starting with Munchkins.
The Lollypop Guild requires extra large lollypops so at Hobby Lobby recently I found some that seemed perfect. I am also using 1/100 plastic figures as Munchkins. Right now I am mostly at the gathering stuff phase but I have come along pretty far with that aspect of the project.
I have buildings, a castle, and flying monkeys and Munchkins, as well as Winky Guards. Thats the official name of the guard for the Wicket Witch of the West's Castle. Strelets and Zvezda figures will fill in for those and for Santa Claus North Pole Guards also, though in different paint schemes.
