Blog Up Again

https://bunkermeister.blogspot.com/2024/09/artillery-towing.html

I sent my old computer in for repair, was supposed to take three weeks. I had blogged ahead a few weeks so I was not worried. 8 weeks later I finally got my computer back, and totally replaced with all the old data and photos restored. So now I have caught up on the last 2 months of blogging, so if you wondered what happened to me on the blog, Facebook and here, well I am back now.

I just ordered a big order of Strelets, Orion, HaT, Redbox, and a few other sets of figures from three different places. The new Strelets Early War US Army figures are awesome. I am really looking forward to getting set 3 and can't wait to see what else is in set 4.

Early War US I would love to see:

Horse cavalry, 26th Cavalry Philippine Scouts, made the last US Army Cavalry charge against the Japanese.

US Navy Infantry, many sailors were left without ships and they were formed into an infantry battalion. Really confused the Japanese, they dyed their Navy white uniforms a sort of tan color, and lacking infantry training had strange behaviors and tactics, but were fierce fighters.

Philippine Army, mostly had Springfield rifles, and wore M1917 helmets, and even some pith helmets.

US Navy on ship, men manning the helm, firing the guns, swabbing the decks, handling ropes, shore patrol, and such. Marx and Tim Mee did great sailor sets in the 1950s and 1960s.

US Coast Artillerymen with a coast artillery mortar. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12-inch_coast_defense_mortar

And finally, a commanders set. A couple poses for General Mac Arthur, the President of the Philippines Quezon, General Wainwright and many others.

I am really enjoying these figures and buying them up whenever I can.

Thank you Strelets to keep us supplied during these trying times.
