Welcome to the Strelets Forum. Please feel free to discuss any aspect of 1/72 scale plastic figures, not simply Strelets. If you have any questions about our products then we will answer them here.
PSR wrote in the review of set 283 "The addition of wedges for the guns is a nice touch, but as before, we have no idea what the other small extra is, and to date no one has come up with any viable suggestions for it." Here is the link for it: http://plasticsoldierreview.com/review.aspx?id=2964
So dear Strelets-team, can you please clarify what this small extra part is and what it is used for.
If there is a valid answer in either of the last two replies that were in Germany kindly ask for a translation as I would like to know the answer to this mystery pin with the eye hole part.
If you take a look at the way Strelets attached the unknown device to the gun, it doesn't look like an elevation screw (this should be fixed below the barrel and not at the end of the carriage).
I have yet to buy them, so best guess, is the eye is to tow the gun, the other bit to go under the barrel for elevation/depression for aiming , I struggle to see what else it could be.
It looks to me to be a peg for the hole at the back of the gun carriage, where handspikes would be used to help move the gun.
It doesnt look like something that would be involved in attaching to a limber & it is not an elevation screw for sure.
Ah have just seen PSR have updated their entry for these guns, and yes it is indeed for a handspike.
