Welcome to the Strelets Forum.
Please feel free to discuss any aspect of 1/72 scale plastic figures, not simply Strelets.
If you have any questions about our products then we will answer them here.
This must be the rest of the men to accompany the figures from last week. In the name of the queen… I don’t believe the British had lobster pot Cuirassiers at this point anymore, could they be Austrian?🤔 Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but either way beautiful figures as always! This time between releases is giving me a chance to catch up on painting!
No, the British didn't wear helmets during the WoSS. In fact probably no one did, despite all the nice pictures by modern artists. The Bavarians might have worn them in 1702 but after that probably replaced them with tricornes. The Austrians almost certainly didn't use them in the Western theatre, they may have used them against the Ottomans. But then, who cares? They'll make a nice difference on the wargames table and they sure look great.
I had a reference once, unfortunately lost, to Danish troopers being issued lobster pot helmets; they apparently lobbied successfully to replace them with hats as when it rained the ice-cold water dribbling down inside the helmet was intolerable ...
Nice figures again, and by all means let us God Bless the Queen this weekend!
Maybe I've gotten a bit slow with old age, but now that you mentioned it, Minuteman, by all means God bless the Queen! And wouldn't it be nice if someone would make the modern Blues and Royals on horseback in parade dress in 1:72 plastics? Airfix once made the Guards and they've become a rare collectors item. Just an idea.
It’s amazing and fantastic that you continue to build up anticipation with fabulous masters.
The range and mix that the coming (we hope) cuirassier sets will provide is really exciting.
All of these look great too, but I especially love the kettle drummer. Plenty of possibilities for conversion and/or forming a massed band.
Thanks so much,
No cap ! Only one word: WOW !!
The best part of my weekends, post cards from Ukraine from the Strelets Team. In all you do, you are amazing people. Thank you so much!
Stunning. Beautiful! Majestic!
I had to rub my eyes and look twice when I discovered the news on PSR that Strelets is releasing new sets right now.
To organize such undertaking in the midst of the current chaos and confusion that Europe has slid into, between pandemic and war, is truly admirable and attests to a superhuman level of discipline, organizational skills and courage on part of the Strelets team.
Your thankful customers applaud you.
