Friday, unless I am very much mistaken....

...and we all know what that means....:innocent:

Re: Friday, unless I am very much mistaken....

New work in progress, but not ideal for the desert :relaxed:

Re: Friday, unless I am very much mistaken....

Beautiful and highly flexible. I expect that they will be Austrians and that's what I'll use them for. Lovely.

Thanks Strelets' webmaster,

James

Re: Friday, unless I am very much mistaken....

They are not Austrians, but you are close!

Re: Friday, unless I am very much mistaken....

Bayern!

Re: Friday, unless I am very much mistaken....

Well agreed not at all deserty, but just maybe the best firing line set yet ever in the hobby ?

Re: Friday, unless I am very much mistaken....

Indeed - Bayern!

Re: Friday, unless I am very much mistaken....

A very good-looking set of figures, and very useful. They may not be 'Austrians', but can easily be used as Austrian infantry or the infantry of many other nations of this period. I'd say that they are also suitable to use as French infantry right up to the middle of the C18th.

The polearm carried by the two officer figures (one looking very much like a casualty) looks somewhat like the spontoon carried by the Officer of Prussian Foot Guards shown in the Osprey 'Marlborough's Army' MAA book'....so my guess is that this is a Prussian Firing Line.

Now...if only set 234 'French Musketeers Firing' had looked like this....:face_with_rolling_eyes:

Have a good weekend:relaxed:

Re: Friday, unless I am very much mistaken....

Another beautiful set. But not Middle, not even Far East I'm afraid...
Next time may be!!!

Re: Friday, unless I am very much mistaken....

Yep if only the French firing line had been to this standard, not to mention the Napoleonic British firing line too. Uniforms & equipment may of been different, but poses in this set work way better than those provided in the other sets.

That being said, this is another excellent looking set for the WSS & cements the WSS as being one of the best, if not the best, era Strelets has made.

Re: Friday, unless I am very much mistaken....

Beautifully sculpted. Dutch?

Re: Friday, unless I am very much mistaken....

These figures look to be raising the bar in pose quality yet again. This WSS range just keeps on getting better and better!

Re: Friday, unless I am very much mistaken....

Bavaria’s?

Re: Friday, unless I am very much mistaken....

I feel that a Bavarian-shaped hole in the Orbat is going to be filled!

Actually getting close to being able to field complete armies from this period, in part because of the generic nature of many uniforms of this period, but, nevertheless, this is only really possible because of the unusually comprehensive treatment Strelets are offering. For that and for the quality and charisma of the sculpting, Strelets are to be commended.

While I'm painting them all, Strelets, you'll have plenty of time to sculpt the Seven Years War!

Re: Friday, unless I am very much mistaken....

Bon courage
