Reworks

Dear Strelets
Although the figures you are produceing now are of great importance to many of us (except the horses). I personaly would like for you to go back and rework some of your old figures to the new standard. Especialy the Napoleonics as im a total Nappy fan, dont collect anything else. BUT PLEASE find a sculpture whom can do horse in right proportions as this is YOUR BIGGEST down fall at this time. Yes there are other horses on market i can use, but!! and a big BUT is why by a box of Cavalry when all your going to do is through away its MAIN mode of fighting??.
I do hope i havnt offended you or any other collector on here, as this is not my intention, its just my wishes and hopes.
Yours Phil.

Re: Reworks

I fully agree about the horses in the Prussian Cavalry sets. They are dreadful and if some new horses could be made for them.....brilliant.
Horses are better in the newer WSS sets, so if they cant be redone however, hopefully future Nap cavalry horses will be more like the recent WSS efforts.

As for Napoleonic reworks as a whole, i suppose the French Cuirassiers could use a nice set in attack using new sculpting. They would need to be figures of around 24.5mm to account for being big guys. In attack suits these guys as then their many charges can be recreated. All using swords.

However i would like to see new sets before old stuff got redone. Maybe redo a old set twice a year?

The Prussian horses however definately need changing. Just daft to have fantastic, realistic men on animals which bare only a vague resemblence to a horse. All that effort on the men is wasted otherwise.

Re: Reworks: horses

Strelets do seem to be getting the horses right for the ever-expanding WoSS range. I am no horse specialist, but to my mind the proportions are about right and the poses are very good. It is only a short step (or trot) to use similar horses - obviously with suitable Napoleonic horse furniture, harness etc - for the needs of Prussian Uhlans, Russian hussars, KGL/British hussars, French lancers, Austrian Chevauxlegers, Russian 1812 dragoons etc etc.....

I couldn´t say it better...

The Prussian Cavalry sets are wonderful-sets....but not the sculpting oft the horses..

Reworking the horses with a longer neck and bigger head will bring this sets on a higher level.

Dear Strelets team, please don't see this as a criticism of your work.
We are all so happy about the great sets you have designed and created.
We just want to make things even better.
So don't see us as perpetually groaning critics, but as interested supporters.
