Re: "New Streletsi "

I've collected a whole host of Strelets Streltsy figures over the years, and have not yet put them to any worthwhile use (although I do have plans, probably not to be realised anytime soon though...But plans even so).

Personally, I'd prefer to see the new approach ie: adding a civilian/non combatant figure or two to each set, in place of the previous obligatory Strelets 'musketeer' figure.

Individual non-combatant types will still represent a unique trademark item for Strelets - because no other manufacturer is likely to do this - and actually is likely also to be a deal more useful overall (my view, anyway). Previously with the 'bonus' figure you'd have to have plans to create a late 17th/very early 18th Russian/Muscovite force to use these. With civilians which are the same period as the main set figures, you need not worry about this historical period and geographical constraint.

So....period camp followers, inn landlords, well-meaning cheering gentlemen and general hangers-on now have a new lease of life!

Dear Andy,

no such decision has been taken.
Best regards,

Perhaps we can help Strelets make a decision. My vote is for and end to the bonus streltsi and their replacement with a civilian contemporary to the set. What say others?

I agree!!@
New civilian bonus figures for same era

Re: "New Streletsi "

i like the streletsi.i hope they keep including them.

Re: "New Streletsi "...and what do you do with your 'old Streltsy'?

There are votes for continuing the famous one off streletsi figures in Strelets sets, and quite a lot of voices (me included) supporting new civilian figures.

What are members of the Forum planning to do with the streltsy figures collected already? Mine are all gathered together in a small plastic box, waiting for the day when I get around to creating a Russian force for the later 17th century/1700 period. They will add a lot of much needed variety and style to a collection figures already acquired from another manufacturer.

Or will some Forum members simply collect the Strelets streltsy figures for their individual and unique character, perhaps paint them or perhaps simply keep them in their original unpainted state?

Re: "New Streletsi "...and what do you do with your 'old Streltsy'?

I have a whole bunch of Streltsi collected over the years and they never made much difference in my buying a particular set one way or another as it's not an era I collect. They are in a box somewhere unpainted (though some were primed with their respective sets). That's probably where they'll stay.

The civilians on the other hand, I see a great many uses for and look forward to starting a collection of them.
