Welcome to the Strelets Forum.
Please feel free to discuss any aspect of 1/72 scale plastic figures, not simply Strelets.
If you have any questions about our products then we will answer them here.
I don't have many multipart figures, a few Zvezda dragoons and some alternative arms. But I do sometimes change figure poses and change unmounted figures to mounted ones by partially cutting through joints and repositioning limbs.
This sometimes leaves quite large gaps to fill. I used to use putty or melted plastic (not recommended) but now I really like this stuff:
Glue that cures under U.V. light. It doesn't really work as a glue for most of what we do but I think it's really handy as a filler.
One end of the tube is the glue applicator and the other end is the U.V. light for curing the glue.
I find it really easy to use, as long as I'm not looking at the job through a camera viewfinder, there wouldn't normally be that overflow over the reins. I find it mostly goes where I want it to but if you do get too much on the cured product trims easily with an exacto knife. And it's paintable. $14 from the Post Office shop.
Here's one I made earlier when putting my Strelets Soult to horse, the horses head needs to be moved so it doesn't completely obscure the figure:
Well, well, well. You bait a hook and sometimes catch a fish.
Now this looks like a product I will want. Where did you purchase it, Graeme? Australia Post?
Yes, Australia Post. I did once see something that looked very similar, just a different coloured tube, for $4 in one of the cheap shops but it's not there now so I didn't get to try it.
Paint dog, I recommend searching "google . com" and click on "images" then enter "5 second fix." All sorts of sellers will show up including Amazon and ebay. I use this strategy for finding all sorts of hard to find items except the figurines themselves. Amazon, ebay and Walmart all have excellent and liberal return policies. You've got to be careful buying glue and products that have a short shelf-life. Gasoline to drive to a store could cost the same as the tube itself.
I recommend starting with Amazon and look for "Free Shipping" and check out the Sellers Feedback ratings. Hope this helps. GC
