Great figures but I wont be buying any of these sets, its not because I don't like them, or want them I just have too many great Napoleonic sets I must have, & I cant afford a new era in the near future of around 20 new sets that will cost around £160+ not to mention the time involved in painting them all.:joy:

I like you am very glad to see all the new sets that are not Napoleonic it will and I cant believe I am saying this hopefully will slow down the release of all the Napoleonic sets. I buy a dozen boxes of each set to make up my divisions so if six Napoleonic sets come out you can imagine the bill.

I wish that they would stagger the Napoleonic sets through out the year as its a big hit at Christmas with everything else at that time of the year.

I know I could buy less but I learned many years ago to buy at the time as it can be hard to get reissues, I know its a first world problem but its also great that other periods are becoming available as it will hopefully bring others into our niche hobby and I am sure others are loving the new periods.

After saying all that I wish that Strelets would put some of its great new sculptors onto artillery sets and create a range similar to that of Zvezda

I will end by saying santa is going to be good to me as I have been a good boy with no drink, drugs or loose women.

For the English, the wars of the Spanish Succession are commemorated by Malborough's victories; especially Blenheim.
It should be remembered that, eventually, the war was won by Louis XIV and in France I have played many a WSS game using Lead soldiers (of which there are many different armies represented) and a few 1/32nd plastics. (The latter being predominately plastic kits.) The subject is popular, especially because of the elaborate uniforms. Which is wonderful; if you enjoy painting.

I do believe Britain withdrew from the WSS, after secretly making peace with France and abandoning its Allies more or less on the field of battle, who continued to fight on. Not Britain's finest hour.

A general peace was made a couple of years later in 1714. Technically a win for Louis XIV I would suggest, as he got to keep the Spanish throne in the family, the original cause of the war. However, the restrictions placed upon this, meant French power was not greatly enhanced in the end, hence only a technical win.

Still colourful period and look forward to a full range in which to recreate it
