'My first memory of playing with soldiers was with my older brother, on the floor in the living room'
How funny. That is also my first memory of playing with toy soldiers. I was 2 years old, and we were setting up Airfix WW2 Americans and Germans, along with some tanks. To me, many years later, still a great hobby that brings me everlasting joy and happiness.
as a child i must have received every marx playset for christmas or my birthday, but i dont have any special memories of them.the one that i do remember clearly for some reason is playing with a rat patrol playset while watching the show on tv every week.
Mine is discovering a big sheet of white polystyrene foam packing that came with the fridge and scooping out 'trenches' and craters for my Airfix WWII soldiers to battle over, then coming home from school one day to find my older brother had painted it in realistic colors for me!
