Welcome to the Strelets Forum.
Please feel free to discuss any aspect of 1/72 scale plastic figures, not simply Strelets.
If you have any questions about our products then we will answer them here.
I decided to use some horse poses from my old HO/00 scale Atlantic 7th Cavalry set - with their long wavy manes trimmed right back, the smaller horses pass for mules, and look good when the larger FFL riders are mounted on them (fit quite well too).
In the event Mr. Strelets later makes a dedicated mule set with accessories, I'll gladly "upgrade" my FFL riders...
Yes, my hopes too, Strelets should be encouraged to make a dedicated Mounted Companies set. And if in fact they do, my personal hope is that they will sculpt Legionnaires in their fatigues with wide waist sash and Kepi with Neck Curtain and not wearing the famous Blue Capote nor their full-Kit Backpack.
My purpose would be twofold, (1) for them to be manning and fighting from the walls in their Fort (Zinderneuf) under attack by native tribesmen as in the Beau Geste movies, and also (2) to be formed up in a Defensive Square with the animals protected inside, much like the famous British Squares that Strelets new Napoleonic Highlander and Infantry sets will allow to soon do. Both action-fighting scenarios I will recreate using Strelets new fine figurines!
Yes, and I think we need some artillery too in order to fully recreate some fierce last-stand battles...including wounded and casualty figures...
Bingo! What a great picture. It portrays all the nice details we'd love to have for FFL last stands (as you say!). In fact back on February 12, 2019 this year Strelets posted a "Teaser Picture" of a cannon and crew for us FFL fans. I almost forgot. Maybe we'll be able to add it to our armies by the Year End Holidays. Here is the link:
Note to Strelets:
Please also make a beautiful set with the same kinds of poses of British Infantry for the Boer War to use "Patrolling" the South African countryside for Commandos!
GC, Many thanks for remembering and sharing that link - I suppose, and hope, that the FFL arty set will be in the Dec 2019 batch of new releases then! Great!!! :grinning:
