Welcome to the Strelets Forum. Please feel free to discuss any aspect of 1/72 scale plastic figures, not simply Strelets. If you have any questions about our products then we will answer them here.
For what it is worth, I have a method that I have come to over the years from seeing and hearing about what others do.
- Undercoat with Paynes grey.
- Paint base coat colours, usually a bit darker than desired, leaving a bit of undercoat around the edges of muskets, uniforms, belts and the like for 'cheap black-lining',
- a little black wash with diluted black ink, if necessary/desired to get some black into lines of detail.
- Highlight the main areas with a lighter and/or the desired shade. This may be either a dry brush, painting only selected areas (e.g. raised bits of uniform) or even a bit of a wash.
It's a bit 'involved', but I only intend to paint them once!
I came to acrylics in the early 90s and really like the lack of fumes and easy mixing of colours.
There's a number of YouTube vids on the paint.
It seems to me my usual method of painting is superior but it seems to be a quick way of achieving a fair result.
Rather than use unpainted figures, I'd give it a go but it's probably not for experienced painters/those who like painting.
It seems that you can achieve a decent tabletop standard paint job with these pretty fast. But anyway, it won't replace my technique of painting. Maybe I'll add one or two of this to my arsenal but that's it.
i watched the link, the level of detail with regards to the differing colours and their coverage was very informative. I will get some of the colours and give them a try

I would like to hear how you fair and, if possible, see the results.
