Welcome to the Strelets Forum. Please feel free to discuss any aspect of 1/72 scale plastic figures, not simply Strelets. If you have any questions about our products then we will answer them here.
Thank you very much! 13 years have passed since the last infantry set for this conflict, and this subject was really well chosen, poses look lovely, I'm really glad to see these. I hope that you will release more kits (and for the love of God, please do Australians with enough weapons for a full platoon!), and I'm really looking forward buying these figures as soon as they are released.
This is great news. This is the war during which I grew up & it is great pity it was largely disregarded in our beloved hobby. Hopefully even Strelets will consider this period. Please think about producing: Australians, South Koreans, Cambodians, US Navy, US Airforce, US tank riders, Chinese Army. May be you also consider the conflict with the French -Dien Bien Phu. Help us move from dreams to reality.
Any idea if Orion will release US sets for the Vietnam War Series?
I think four sets were mentioned for Vietnam, but Haron, if you are around, any more beans you can spill?
I for one would not mind if no new US troops would arrive, as we already have two - ARVN, Australians and possibly some heavy weapons for the North would be more welcomed.
Nice subject that really enhances and expands the existing set available. The anti-resistance troops came as a bit of a surprise, I was expecting Cossacks or Handschar, these look as though it is meant to be Gestapo and SS for Western Europe - not as much wargaming potential in my view.

If you add in some partisans as the enemy, some refurbished French tanks that were used in anti-partisan operations, I would say they are well suited for gaming.
Also, some of them can be used as actual partisans (like the coated figures), and some others could even be used as Poles in the Warsaw uprising.
Yes they have their uses but to me there were less stand up battles in the West because the terrain wasn't suitable to protect large scale formations, obviously, the Maquis were an exception but for a long time virtually all they could do was lie low and survive. Most of what happened in the West was raids and arrests of agents and small groups because they had been informed on or their radio transmissions had been detected. The Gestapo men are a bit different but supporting troops in this scale are pretty much indistinguishable from normal SS or Wehrmacht troops. Don't get me wrong, if you can make use of them then that is great but for me they don't have a great appeal.
