Re: Question: what type of Greeks?

Personally I would prefer to see darkage or medieval peasants including women and children going about the activities you would see in a town or village.

Re: Question: what type of Greeks?

I'm kind of agreeing with Graham here. I'd much rather see Medieval peasants & civilians than Greek.

BUT... truth be told, I would much rather see you finish some other lines you started, but let drop, like American troops War of 1812. Heck, I'd be satisfied with a set each of US Regulars, US Artillery, US Dragoons & Creek Indians. Throw in a sprue to include "Old Hickory" & I'll be happy. I can make due with the Brits we have.

Re: Question: what type of Greeks?

I agree that increasing any era in sets is worthwhile.....
Especially as you said and I have pointed out we need civilians, camp followers, supply personnel, pack animals and these can all be generic uniforms ,for Greek, medievel, napoleonic,ww1,ww2,southeast Asia etc

How about some sets of indochina several ideas from that area alone ,???
I love your work streletsir is only getting better !@@

Re: Question: what type of Greeks?

What he said!

I think this is a great idea. Especially Mycenaean stuff.

Re: Question

In the Roman world, there were many cultures, and each of them would deserve multiple sets to adequately depict their culture.

I just bought a Roman arena (Playmobil) for my Romans, which I will modify for use in our favorite scale, and it would be nice to have a set of spectators for all the gladiators that are available for purchase. I might need a few hundred sitting civilians for this project alone.

Re: Question

I to think there is scope here for other periods, and Soldiers at rest, Germania figures have done a stunning Zulu war British set, how good would a set of WW1 Brits be ! even better WW2.

Totally agree especially the soldiers at rest.

Certainly, there is a lack of affordable civilian sets currently. Probably, 19th/20th would make more financial sense (but fortunately Strelet does always follow that logic with its choices!). 20th century Mediterranean would be interesting especially for the much forgotten Italian campaign.

Re: Question

Dear Strelets, I knew Strelets don't like to make set already having in the market, But the brand "Strelets" have their own unique sculpting/design. Please start the Greek Warrior first, instead of Greek Life. Imagine, Strelets Style figures at Before War, Marching, Fighting, Greek looter, Greek Leaders on Foot and Mounted! I'm 100% confident Strelets will have Good sales results on Greek Warriors !

That explains all the Napoleonic French Line infantry and Grenadiers, I suppose.

Re: Question

Friends of Strelets,

I agree with the former colleage that better to have new greek warriors as we collect soldiers and wargame battles and with your new style, in my humble opinion, no doubt that is bestseller than civilians.

Best,

Re: Question

Great idea!

I support it.

Re: Question

Yes, that's really a very good idea. I'm searching/waiting for ancient civilians no matter which region or 'work' they do, so do whatever culture and style you want!

Thank for the possibility to respond on an idea of yourself, by the way.

To edit my own answer - you asked for greeks in ancient time which is really great and in the meantime a good bunch of people made suggestions to several poses and activity which would like to have for not only greeks. For sure if you think you could do e.g. medieval civilians & court stuff later on too, i would appreciate also.

Re: Question

Very interesting idea. Not just for the Classical period but for Minoan/Mycenean periods also.

It wouldn't surprise me if many uses for the figures could be found for the figures outside of Ancient Greece as well.

Re: Question

Would much rather a set of Greek Gods (Zeus, Hades, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Aphrodite, Hera, Athena, Poseidon, Hermes, and Hephaestus) and Kings/Queens (Priam, Paris, Helen, Hector, Aeneas, Memnon, Penthesilia, Agamemnon, Menelaus, Nestor, Ajax, Achilles, Odysseus, Diomedes) for the Trojan War, plus their bodyguards, slaves, priests, priestesses and retainers.

Re: Question

Excellent idea.
There's so much scope.
Heroic era; Troy, Odysseus, Jason etc.,
Minoan and Mycenean (My favourite)
Athens and Sparta (Persian and Peloppenesian wars)
Socrates and Alexander.
Archimedes in Syracuse (Strelet's Romans could be utilised here)

Re: Question

It does, indeed.

Re: Question

I absolutely support the idea.
I would like strelets works on the elaboration of both civilian and military figures.
I would also like to approach any era of ancient Greece (archaic, classical, Hellenistic ...).
I sincerely believe that such products would have a good reception in the market.

Re: Question

Any civilian figures is appreciated.

I would especially love civilian Far East/Chinese for: Chinese Civil War/WW2/Vietnam/Indochina/ with conversions for Opium Wars and Samurai Wars.

Re: Question

Dear Strelets,

your civilians of roman life are brilliant but unfortunately there are no civilians of other centuries with more historical happenings for our life today.

So I can't find civilians of the napoleonic time, the american civil war time, the world war 1 and especial of the world war 2.

Of course somebody will disagree this statement and somebody will say there are a lot of civilians of this time - but if there are any civilians on the market, are they really such as brillant as them of strelets?

Because of this I bought a lot of your civilians of roman or medieval time and I used to rebuild them that they fit in times where I can't get any civilians with such a good quality as yours.

If you have a little bit time in your tight timetable, please create civilians of napoleonic time, the american civil war time, the world war 1 and especial of the world war 2 centuries.

Re: Question

Strelets
Gentlemen,

we've released quite a few sets, devoted to various aspects of Roman life, not only military one.
In your opinion, does ancient Greek life deserve similar kind of treatment?

Best regards,

Strelets
Definately :+1: and I´d say yes to sets of civilians for any period you cover :+1:

Re: Question

This is a great idea. There are plenty possibilities for decent sets. Hellenistic philosophs, Hellenistic Courts of Alexander IV, the Diadochi or even Mithridates of Pontus. Plenty of construction work, multipurpose sailors and craftsmen, famous priests or even the Pythia on her throne!

Please consider hellenistic troops like thorakitai, pezetaroi, cretan archers, rhodian slingers and so on !!

Re: Question

considering hellenistic troops are a good idea:

a lot of different and colorful sets:
Infantry
Cavalry
Elephants
Command

and headquarter

YES YES YES, Love it!!! :-))

Re: Question

I bought all the strelets and linear b civilian sets and would buy all issued in future

To answer the simple question that is asked: I have nothing against but they are not boxes that I plan to buy.

No

My opinion: medieval Europe is much more interesting. Many military figures are produced, but there is no civilians in plastic.

Re: Question

Agree with most others that a range of Ancient Greek Civilans would be very useful and greatly appreciated. It would be reasonable to subdivide the range into different periods and topic areas (market scene, different craftsmen, court life, etc. ...). :+1:

As for similar ranges, I won't trouble you with another exotic wishlist but can very well imagine the value of Civilian figures suitable for the 19th & 20th centuries.

Re: Question

How much difference exactly would there be between ancient Greek and Roman civilians?

Re: Question

It is a good question, so I did some searching on Google for daily life pictures but pretty much only found people shopping in markets.

Atlantic sets were reissued under NEXUS and are readily available for a good price still.

I bought a few of your Roman Transport 4 set with the Basterna/Sedan Wagon. I love it and I can use it also in Peking Chinese themes.

I've got several ATL Greek Warships and they made other boats already also.

If you take up the challenge, what sets/themes do you think you could add to and would be popular?

Thank you for asking - GC
