French gun crew masters

Well they look splendid, and can probably be used for other guns and probably WW2 too.

Re: French gun crew masters

Another must-have - many thanks Strelets!

These could serve for WW2 as well since Strelets wisely gave them no equipment at all (even the water bottles differed between WW1 and 2).

It has often been said that manning the guns is hot work, so since these are wearing their coats they are probably in a winter setting, which means they go well with the Serbians! That coat is fine for WW2 too, although a single breasted model was introduced by then as well.

Ten poses (most have good-looking Adrian helmets, two the bonnet de police cap, the only kepi on show looks rather small to me) is fine for an artillery crew set: a command group of three, five men providing shells of suitable size, one man touching / firing the gun, and one covering one (!) of his ears. I am not sure what to do with that last one but the rest of the poses look excellent to me.

In the photo it looks as if the man receiving a shell has one hand not fully formed, and about half of the figures' puttees are looking unfinished (or veeery muddy), so hopefully these small points can still be addressed.

There are rather new sets of French WW2 artillery crew in tunics, and early WW1 crews dressed very differently, but the only other one for mid/late WW1 compares very unfavourably in terms of sculpting with this new set, so if the artillery piece is decent Strelets have another winner!

Re: French gun crew masters

Great sculpts but sadly Not my period of interest, I would love this sculptor to put his talents to the Napoleonic period.

I am sure they would produce great and unique gun crews for a very popular period I would love gun crews in greatcoats if possible.

Re: French gun crew masters

Yes Napoleonic gun crews in greatcoats starting soon hopefully with the Polish artillery set I remember seeing a picture a few months ago of a Polish in a greatcoat looking guy with a long stick in his hand (a pole with a pole?) whatever happened to him.
The French artillery would be then easy with maybe just head swops also Strelets could make a range of French allies Bavarian & Saxon for instance using the same cannon like they did with that big ww1 gun they brought out a few years ago.

Re: French gun crew masters

Excellent set of masters, I can think of lots of uses for WW1 & WW2 for them
