I like the Esci figures, as well as italeri`s anti tank team and waterloo`s 75mm pac howitzer, the Revell figures I am less keen on and Airfix , well nostalgia purposes only these days. Gaps a good 3in mortar team, a Vickers team , using captured weapons , no where near enough in Berets , etc , so yes count me in.

AB (Fighting 15s) do superb British Airborne figures in white metal.

Notice I use the term Airborne. Parachute regiment/brigade in the main for those who jumped out of Dakotas etc with parachutes and acted as infantry and an elite. The Airlanding Brigade landed in gliders - Horsa, Hamilcar and some Waco Hadrians and provided the Jeeps, light artillery etc (heavier stuff) for the divisions but also had infantry. Normally written as (Parachute) for corps troops in Parachute brigades and battalions eg 16th (Parachute) Field Ambulance which was a RAMC unit but of course trained to jump. Airlanding units still belonged to the parent regiment eg South Staffs as their cap badge and red sleeve regt arc but wore the Airborne Pegasus badge on the left upper arm. Two VCs at Arnhem to South Staffs Regt personnel (Cain and Baskeyfeld). In combat attire the parachute troops and airlanding troops were similar- helmets, smocks etc. Warlord use the term Airborne and also include Polish parachute troops with the different way of wearing the beret (of different colour).
Nowadays the term paratrooper normally relates to those in the Parachute regiment but Para is used far more (Suez 1956 last time assault with parachutes) and airlanding by helicopter is common for all army regiments ( and RM Commandos).
