Maybe For This Friday's Teaser Picture Could We Have...
... a picture of a new Highlanders Set. The others have all looked so good so far and we haven't seen anything new for quite a while. I'm looking forward to adding to them and all the others!

Yeah,
Strelets Team have been showing us lots of artillery lately, foot soldiers and or cavalry would be nice, for a change. However, if they showed those Polish Napoleonic Artillerists, I might do a cartwheel or two!

You are not alone Paul K this is my most hoped for set for this year.
I think we got a preview of a polish gunner a few months ago but since then nothing.
I keep seeing all the great artillery for different eras & I'm jealous we need to some polish Nappy guns of the same standard please.:sob:

As an old artillery gun chief I believe completely in what Napoleon said:
\"Artillery lends dignity to what otherwise would be a vulgar brawl...\"
By all means, bring on the Arty sets!
Wayne
Actually that quote is ascribed to a cavalry officer training candidate - "Q. What is the role of cavalry in a modern battle? A. To bring class to an otherwise vulgar brawl."
Which begs the question - why was a bright chap like that trying out for the donkey wallopers, when he could have far more use elsewhere?
Re: Maybe For This Friday's Teaser Picture Could We Have...
Thanks for the info, Steve - I've always heard it attributed to Napoleon. We used to have a great poster hanging in several of my old Arty batteries of a big cartoonish fight (brawl) with an elegant fellow decked out in proper 18th C. attire touching off a small cannon toward the fray with the quote, attributed to Napoleon underneath. I always loved that poster - and the quote.
I'd never heard about the cavalry comment. You learn something new every day.
I agree with you on doing things with a bigger bang!

Oh Yeah at last! A generic Streltsi set! Streltsi for their own good! Excellent ! Very good addition to my Red Box Sets of Russian Warriors and a marvellous opposition to those many many Turks sets.
