Re: War of the Worlds

Not if they were giant radio-active ants like in the 1950s classic "Them." LOL

Re: War of the Worlds

If you want giant insects go to educational stores. The kind of shops that sell products to teachers. They have lots of choices. Or try going to party supply stores. They sell them as party favors for kids. I have lots of them.

As for the 1953 Martian War Machine, Pegasus makes them in 1/144 scale and 1/48 scale. Now really, how large is a fictional Martian War Machine? I use the larger ones for my 1/72nd scale figures and you correctly identified the Imex Korean War figures as the Go - to guys for that combat. Mix the Imex Korean War US Army and South Korean troops, they all look just like US Army AND add in the Revell WWII US Army guys in long coats and that will give you the heavy weapons, .50 caliber machine gun and 81mm mortar. Figures are all the same dark gloss green so even Garrison Clay will be happy!

If you can't afford the larger war machine, use the smaller one. It's still larger than a tank and I think it works fine with 1/72nd scale figures. You get two per box.

Getting 1950's US police and civilians would be awesome. I would buy a ton of those. A set of some kind of alien robots, monsters would be great too.

Re: War of the Worlds

I looked on ebay just for fun and discovered there are some cheap stuff in plastics perhaps suitable...Like this one for example:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/12x-Mini-Plastic-Insect-Toy-Flying-Bug-Spider-Wasp-Ladybird-Ant-Simulated-Animal/263432415908?epid=13012961534&hash=item3d55cbaaa4:g:uCIAAOSw5KtaWHB5

Lots of cheap ants and other stuff, then I realized my country has just introduced a new tariff fee for Chinese imports so this would be expensive. Why must they make it so hard for hardworking people..

Re: War of the Worlds

Thanks for the tip about the Pegasus martians Mike, love the avatar!

Re: War of the Worlds

You are welcome Colon.

I got a bunch of Happy Meal toys, that are actually Manta from Batman, as older walking war machines.
