Knights!

Hello Strelets.

I know you get a lot of requests for sets and that you are busy with your ACW anf WW1 sets but I was just wondering if you planned to expand on the two medieval English footmen and longbow sets? Personally I would love to see a set of re-vamped mounted knights based around the early 14th century. The old English cavalry of Edward I is looking somewhat aged compared to your beautifully detailed sculpting of today. I was also wondering if there were any plans to re-release the army of Robert the Bruce set. I mainly just want the De Bruce figure. I know it is an old set though.

I don't know if there is any demand for this other than myself but there you go.

Thank you very much

Tom

Re: Knights!

Sorry Tom, But personally no it would be very difficult if not impossible to convert them in to WW2 Belgium’s or WW2 Finns which is what everybody is waiting for ( Ha Ha I Wish/Hope ). However for Strelets to start to re issue some of their old sets in their new fantastic style would be good news indeed.

Re: Knights!

Haha, now that would be getting creative!! No, I didn't think it was too likely but the recent footmen and longbow sets got me back into my Bannockburn project which is distinctly lacking in mounted knights and De Bruce himself. I missed the boat on the Robert the Bruce's army set and it is now devilishly hard to find!

Re: Knights!

Always wanted to buy those Scottish sets but now out of print as they're quite entertaining...oh well.

If Strelets ventured into medieval times once more I'd like to see mounted crusaders with the heater type of shield, as most if not all Crusaders are with the older shield design. Already plenty of sets with saracens and dismounted knights but a real mounted Crusader set would sell well I think, perhaps with the two different shield type to choose from?

Re: Knights!

I managed to get the William Wallace set a while ago, entertaining, as you say!

I agree. I am not very in to the crusades but a set of knights with heater shields would be very useful for both crusaders and knights fighting within Europe. It is a bit of a surprising Gap in the 1:72 market.
They could be made fairly generic. Preferably without sculpted designs on the shields! That is one of my big frustrations with many medieval sets of this scale. I want to paint my own designs on shields!

Re: Knights!

One one hand, it's easy to get good results with engraved shields, but generic is even better as you could print your own designs or buy them online and just glue them on. Saves some time and looks good. I planned so long to buy the Wallace and the other sets but never got around to it. Maybe Strelets could re-release them with new sculpts? This thread got my medieval interest going, I've always planned an Agincourt project but never got started, still missing the archers, also Bannockburn and such battles are tempting too...

Re: Knights!

Precisely. There are just more options with plain shields.

That would be nice. I rather like the schiltron set and you can still find that quite readily but a new fancy schiltron set would be a dream. so glad we have new English troops now and they look really nice, especially the longbowmen. Could you not use the new longbow set for Agincourt?
