Dear Strelets. Thank you for your reply, point taken over shops and dealers. However running a poll to see what the demand was for certain sets (you could advertise it on other sites) could help you to decide what new sets to make. Also re issuing some of your old sets in your new style I think would be a good move.
I only bought one of your old style sets and said never again I did not like your old style at all. Your new style and range is great and I have bought a lot of them and will continue to do so. I cannot be the only one to have changed my mind over your products. Strelets is even getting good reviews in PSR. But at the end of the day I guess I will just have to wait for a Happy Friday with some WW2 Dutch and Winter War Finns.
to make a set worthwhile, it takes 1500 boxes to be sold. There's no way, that this amount can be pre-ordered by a couple of dozens of individuals, attending this forum.
Also, if we circumnavigate shops and dealers, who are our main buyers, we will eventually shrink our own customer base. In the long run, is it worth it for a few bob extra ? We are all in one boat after all.

Pre ordering is as old as the hills.
The difference is retailers do it. The price we pay has lots of add ons but the retailer takes the risk. Retailers in the UK rarely ask for the money up front when pre ordering and the customer can cancel the pre ordered goods. In the UK there are many postal companies Yodel,Parcelforce, UBS, DPD, etc and retailers can choose those that meet their needs. Getting stuff from halfway round the world is always going to be costly and long distance rather than internal is likely to be out of the control of the sender. Old systems are not bad nor are new ones but crowdfunding or its resurgence was particularly aimed at products with short and reasonably predictable lead times eg specialist game add ons or DVDs. Additionally the normal distribution channels (manufacturer>importer> wholesaler>retailer) for these products were often non existent. Sadly "circumnavigation" has led to retailers/wholesalers reducing their stock etc and opting for sure fire movers (big sellers). The sure fire movers may be RC helicopters or drones. Consumption patterns are often fragile (rob Peter and pay Paul)in a niche area like plastic model figures.
