ACW suggestions

Since Strelets is producing many new and highly welcome ACW sets, I have a few suggestions:

- Union Iron Brigade (4 poses previously in an old Call to Arms set but we could do with many more)
- Union & Confederate soldiers in winter clothing
- Black regiments fought on both sides (e.g. 1st Louisiana Native Guard were Confederates). And with the new sculpting I'm sure ethnicity can be well done (Call to Arms did it - 4 poses in the same set as the Iron Brigade boys). Whilst we're at it, how about a set of Buffalo Soldiers (I know not ACW but US 10th Cavalry of the Indian Wars)? :-)

And then, perhaps my childhood favourite - US 7th Cavalry (classic look of the Indian Wars)...yes, done before but not many decent 1/72 sets were ever made, and only one set was really good (the Waterloo 1815 one). More mounted and dismounted cavalrymen (including Custer of course) would be welcome!

Can anyone think of other sets missing from ACW or Wild West/Indian Wars?

Re: ACW suggestions

What about generic supply train ????
Pack animals,wagons,people carrying boxes etc?

Also medical corps ....doctors nurses ordelies once again carrying things ie buckets cloths boxes etc stretchers ...?

Re: ACW suggestions

Duplicate the Airfix 1/32 7th cavalry in 1/72 and I will buy a few boxes.

Re: ACW suggestions

Strelets have already confirmed that they are planning a winter set, a most welcome addition. I agree on medical staff, surgeons, stretchers and so on, but I'm not sure how much such sets sell? Personally I'd like to see the Confederate marine battalion during the Appomattox campaign in 1/72 but I doubt they warrant all the work necessary.
A set with Havelocks would be awesome too, but their use would be limited to one battle. Wagons, ambulances and such would be nice too, also figures with the Hardee hat, Iron brigade and so on.

Re: ACW suggestions-winter? and Wild west suggestions

Did they confirm a winter set? I hope so. I need Union in overcoats for Fredericksburg.

I am also up for an Iron Brigade early with Hardee hats and gaiters or late with more campaign hats. Either one is fine.

As for Wild West, I really only need civilians. Bartender, woman with rifle defending homestead, saloon girl, doctor, blacksmith, Indian camp women (running with babies or shouting during an attack is good, but camp poses are fine too, the Imex ones are too big), Pony Express, railroad track workers etc.

Reamsa also had some great Western Townsfolk:

Re: ACW suggestions-winter? and Wild west suggestions

I asked Strelets about the greatcoats for winter campaign a while back:

2. Are there any detailed plans for ACW sets in greatcoats?

2. yes, follow the website;

Though we haven't heard or seen anything of them since..

What I would like to see is "surrender/prisoner pose", arms raised and muskets in the air, as well as soldiers with white flags. Would love to have some troops walking away from the fighting as prisoners, you never see that in 1/72, I feel it would be unique but I guess I'm the only one lol
