Re: Imperial camel corps dismounted

I think that things are getting better and better...
Another "thanks" for strelets !!!

Re: Imperial camel corps dismounted

They look good to me, the guy touching holding his hat is of limited use, but none the less very good and I will be buying them.

Re: Imperial camel corps dismounted

These are great looking Mounted Infantry for WWI, Strelets! Your sculptor chose nice poses and good attention to details, especially the Pith Helmets with nice air vents on top. The Bandoliers look great. And I love the box art work, too. Can't wait to face them with the Turks and do some major disruptions of the rail road lines and stations.

Osprey has an excellent book out: The Arab Revolt 1916–18, (Lawrence sets Arabia ablaze) Campaign #202

It gives an excellent account of how these Camel Troopers fought in the Arab Revolt with lots of nice artwork to give us all some table top battle ideas. I've approached WWI and WWII with caution because a collector could get lost in the high expense of so much mechanized warfare equipment and lose track of the actual men and their modest supplies. But with the Arab Revolt, I'll get Camel Corps, various Infantries, limited Artillery, a train and some tracks and now it's time to buy a Biplane or two and maybe some Armoured Cars.

Oh, and I recall some pictures of a Mounted Trooper and a couple of camels in the design phase by Strelets on the VK site. So there should be even more coming! Thank you Strelets - GC

P.S. "We expect to be reading a lot about T.E. Lawrence this year as it’s the centenary of the Arab revolt of 1916-18, which saw the uprising of the Arab tribes of the Saudi peninsula against the Turkish invaders." Credit to http://www.theatreperform.com/ross/ (posted in 2016).

Re: Imperial camel corps dismounted

This set is great. Perfect for pulp adventures.
My only gripe is the the fact of not enough standing riflemen. 3+1 running. Hmm. Not enough diversity for my taste (similarly to Honved).
Could we humbly ask for one more standing riflemen?

This runninn guy could be a bit easier to convert into ammo carrier, with left hand a more separate from hat.

Re: Imperial camel corps dismounted

hello
maybe they could useful to represent dismounted Australian Ligh Horse if heads are substituted with Aussie type bush hats from HAT, Airfix, Matchbox..and once done the spare/cutted Tropical/Wolseley heads could be very useful for variosu other conversions...

I plan to make standard late war British infantry from them...why nobody makes a worthwhile set of those eludes me.

I actually thought they could double as dismounted early war cavalry (sans Lewis guns) after a headswap, wouldn't that be feasible?

The sculpting keeps getting better and better.

Odd I should say that about a Strelets set but for my needs there could be two or three more firing poses. Also, I don't know what to make of the the last figure in the last row - he seems to be prone and waving, but then he would not have a leg in the air like this? Regards, Pa

Most probably yes...and you just added one more box to the "how many should I buy" count with this idea.

Re: Imperial camel corps dismounted

Very nice figure. I'm looking forward to the camels to go with them
