Re: PSC want your favorite figure's pose for their upcoming 1/72 WW2 German soldiers

brilliant! they can double every single set made till now in "casualty" mode: 1939-1940 early germans casualties, norway 1940 german casualties, afrika korps casualties, fallschirmjager casualties, crete/italy/summer fallschirmjager casualties, gebirsjager casualties, late germans winter/eastern front casualties, late germans winter/western front casualties, 1946 germans casualties, red skull hydra germans casualties...
and then repeat it all in "zombie" mode!

Re: PSC want your favorite figure's pose for their upcoming 1/72 WW2 German soldiers

I love this idea! I remember an old EC comics story about German scientists reviving dead soldiers & sending them back to fight! I would embrace Zombie Germans as the last WW2 German Infantry set!

Re: PSC want your favorite figure's pose for their upcoming 1/72 WW2 German soldiers

Off the top of my head, I can think of a couple of films that use Nazi zombies. One of them, I can't remember the name but I think it was a Norwegian film, is about a group of friends who take a vacation in an isolated mountain cabin and immediately come under attack by a unit of Nazi zombie soldiers. It is somewhat comedic in tone, as one person, after seeing his friend killed by a zombie, says something along the lines of "I knew we should have gone to Paris!"
Another film more serious in nature is "Bunker", which sees a team of elite mercenaries (ex-SAS, Foreign Legion, Spetznaz, US Marines, etc.) hired by a wealthy man who wants them to escort him to a secret Nazi bunker in Europe where the Nazis attempted to create super soldiers. The problem is, the super soldiers are still there, in zombie form...though they kind of come and go in between our dimension and another one, it was a bit confusing.
Anyway, the point to all this, is yes to WW2 German zombies

Re: PSC want your favorite figure's pose for their upcoming 1/72 WW2 German soldiers

The norwegian movie is Dead Snow. There's also a sequel where they resurrect an army of undead soviets to fight them. I think nazi zombies would be a great idea, although I think there's more than enough of the living variety already made in this scale.

Re: PSC want your favorite figure's pose for their upcoming 1/72 WW2 German soldiers

An obvious gap in the market would be WWII Germans at a fancy dress party dressed as Grenadiers of Napoleons Imperial Guard, I can't imagine why manufacturers haven't jumped all over that one.

Seriously though, I don't have WWII figures so it's not an issue for me but I do think that manufacturers who ask their customers what they want should be applauded so bravo PSC on that score. Still the manufacturers with a public forum like this one will get my vote for most accessible.

And of course there should be separate sets for winter and summer dress!

Re: PSC want your favorite figure's pose for their upcoming 1/72 WW2 German soldiers

Somewhere I have a photo of the lads having fun dressing up for a pantomime/theatre event to entertain their mess mates, of course this includes various crossdressed characters as there were no women available and at least one dressed in top hat and tails.... sort of made me think "it ain't arf hot mum".... on the other hand its a good way of actually getting some civilians...

Yes, Outpost was the name of the second film I mentioned, not Bunker, thanks for the correction. And thanks for the info about Dead Snow Sean!

Re: PSC want your favorite figure's pose for their upcoming 1/72 WW2 German soldiers

Unfortunately, they are serious!

I would like to see some more accurate ones rather than than the perfectl super heroes they are usually presented as

1. How about ones like my father worked (being a farm worker he was reserved occupation) with as POW farm workers - actually they were rather happy being out of the war !
2. Police batalions - yes Strelet were brave enough to produce a set.
3. Beat Goebbel mnatures and do a complete range of goose steppers, bands, torch light, Hitler youth et all.
4. Greatest SS Heroes - Himmler, Werner von Brown,Dr Mengele, Adolf Diekmann etc - a sure fire winner!

I know Germans will sell but why not some new sets the obvious being British troops for the early part of the war!

Re: PSC want your favorite figure's pose for their upcoming 1/72 WW2 German soldiers

I wasn't sure whether it was an April Spoofs Day thing or not.

They also want a photo of you gurning like the chap in the example. All German soldiers gurned when they were about to be vapourised by a shell or neatly ironed by a vengeful T34. I think the Signal magazine gave tips on this.

This would be a good pose for AH and CC fans and subtly symbolic as well

David

Re: PSC want your favorite figure's pose for their upcoming 1/72 WW2 German soldiers

ok for AH, but who's CC? Christopher Columbus? Chris Cringle? Conan the Cymmerian?

Re: PSC want your favorite figure's pose for their upcoming 1/72 WW2 German soldiers

and what are you meaning when you say "subtly symbolic"? do you mean that Charly Chaplin (doh i got it now!) had a huge, mastodontic glandis?
