Re: Message to Vadim

Zvevda French and Russian Infantry mini sets.

All come in grey plastic and are about 24.5mm to 25mm tall 6 figures in 4 poses.

Each figures consist of 4 or 5 parts a body, an arm or 2, knapsack and base, they fit together very well, I used a few drops of Revell contacta glue just to be sure(any poly cement should do on this hard plastic).

The base is way to big, but I have a solution before attaching the base to the figure, I turned the base upside down and cut all of the sides off, I found a window scraper the best tool for this job, just line it up carefully then push down to slice off each side in one go.

Then I nipped off all the sink holes from the base where the feet go using sprue cutter, which leaves you with a perfectly flat square base with 2 holes for the feet.

Next I pushed the made up figure adding a little glue to each foot through the holes in the base and finally nip off the foot pegs to keep the base nice and flat.

Great figures although too few poses, expensive and could be too fiddly for some people.

They are annoyingly good, what I mean by that is they do look really nice but, you can't help thinking how much better they would be in big box format.

I also hope we get Hat to make their Russian Musketeers and French Infantry in 1/72 scale soon.

Re: Message to Vadim

Thank you Brian for your information.
I am waiting for the Hat sets too.
I already have the 1st ZVEZDA infantry sets. I am longing for the command sets.
Thank you too for the Russian website and the future ZVEZDA sets pictures. Both Their dragoon sets are fantastic ! Too bad they cancelled their Jaeger set ! I wish to tell them they could make a third set for infantry and cavalry.
Thank you anyway.
Regards.
Patrice

Re: Message to Vadim

Hi Pat,

No command sets in Moscow shops yet - according to rumor, not released yet. But both artillery and dragoons sets, French and Russian already in shops. Hope soon they hit Paris shops

Re: Message to Vadim

Hi Vadim,
Thank for your information.
I've phoned today my local shop here in Paris.
They say they heard the news and maybe they will get your 4 sets you mentionned on next Friday.
Let us cross fingers !
Other question : do you think we could write Zvezda to ask them to create new Napoleonic good sets such as the latest ones. For instance Russian irregular Cossaks, as they once planned, or the French Guard horse grenadiers, or the French Guard horse Chasseurs, or French Hussards.
I have this adress : office@zvezda.org. I hope they will reply.
Anyway yhank you for your good information.
We keep in touch for new information.
Regards
Patrice

According to the Napoleonic subject and the ZVEZDA Product quality there is room for so many new sets ! Irregular Cossacks; French Horse guards Grenadiers ; French Horse guards Chasseurs; French Hussards.

Best regards.
