Waterloo 1815 Cromwell's cavalry -The upside: size and sculpting

As noted, in terms of historical accuracy these figures are wanting. The upside are size and sculpting, however. The figures are indiscernibly bigger than the Revell figures (PSR has 24mm for the Revell figures. Don't know how exactly they gauged them. I think the Waterloo figures are about 24mm as well. It's difficult to say with horsemen). In my opinion, both Revell and Mars horses would provide reasonable substitutes, if desired. And the sculpting is really very nice.

Re: Waterloo 1815 Cromwell's cavalry : Another flaw

What's not so nice, however, is the fact that there is no firm joint between the arms carrying the standard and trumpet respectively and the body. The pegs are too short and the holes too shallow and glueing alone will not provide a strong bond either. I guess one will have to remove the existing pegs, drill holes into both arms and body and insert a pin or wire, in addition to glueing, to get a reasonably strong bond.

Re: Waterloo 1815 Cromwell's cavalry : Another flaw

I noticed what looked like a very insecure joint as well for the flag-
bearer/ trumpeter as well. I've noticed a poor joint on a lot of the Hat
cavalry set as well, and I've wondered why. The Zevezda French Knights have
riders which can be used as either a mounted crossbowman or handgunner. The
fit for the arms are very secure. the peg is on the arm and fits tightly into
the shoulder. No glue needed. Why can't other manufacturers copy this method?

I guess this has to be connected with the material and moulding.
