Napoleonic British Artillery

Hi, no one but no one seems to make British Artillery for this period. I think Revell used to do one but everywhere has sold out and i just can't get any. The closest i got was some British Rocket Troops from Hat. So please start doing some British Artillery or my forces will have to fight without any.

I'd also really like to see you do some British Infantry for this period. I've just bought the French Infantry advancing and they are my favorite figures. I really like the style of the figures which is different to what the other manufacturers are offering. I know that other manufacturers offer British Infantry for the Napoleonic period but none that are as dramatic as yours so i'd love to see some to oppose the French i've just bought.

Quick question: the French Infantry are wearing the coat instead of the tunic. All the reference books i've bought so far picture the Infantry wearing their tunics so i'm not totally sure what colour i should paint the coat. I checked on another site but it seemed that people could not agree. I assume that it must be grey but i heard someone else say blue. Anybody got any ideas?

Re: Napoleonic British Artillery

Italeri has reissued the ESCI British Artillery. A Call TO Arms also did British Foot Artillery. And of course there is the old Airfix. I've got most of them, some time ago now so I do not know how available they are now.

Re: Napoleonic British Artillery

Unfortunately i've not been able to find a supplier for any of those sets. I've looked everywhere online but not had any luck. I think everywhere has sold out. I'm surprised i've had problems getting British Artillery for this era because it's really popular and there is lots of different sets apart from British Artillery. There's definitely a gap in the market to be filled.

Re: Napoleonic British Artillery

This site still appears to stock the ACTA Brit Arty. They're a great store, I use them alot.

Depending on supply and location, Greatcoats for the line infantry were different shades of grey, brown, and sand. I think blue was generally worn by Guard units, but on campaign very little was "uniform".

Re: Napoleonic British Artillery

Hi Richard,

Try e-mailing Harfields they were showing 2 sets of pre-owned Revell British Artillery last month, I have found their service very good.

Re: Napoleonic British Artillery

Emailed Harfields with my requirements. Good site that i didn't know about. Thank you very much for the tips. Most helpful.

Re: Napoleonic British Artillery

You have my full support - horse artillery and foot artillery. Nevertheless, there'll be a British artillery set for the Egypt campaign soon.
I'm not a specialist on British artillery for that era - would the uniform differ that much between Egypt and for example the Peninsula?

Re: Napoleonic British Artillery

I'm new to this era as well so still learning myself. However when i checked the new Egypt Infantry there did look to be some major differences between the uniforms. The most immediate one i noticed was in the head wear so there maybe others as well, i've only had a quick look and that was the first one to jump out so i'm not holding out hope for them to be useable in other campaigns. Shame.
I just can't understand this hole in the market. Napoleonic is such a popular era for gamers and collectors so i would have thought they'd be plenty to choose from.
